Poopapalooza

An exciting night of performance, stand up and music to raise money for The Actor's Benevolent Fund and Crohn's and Colitis UK.

About Poopapalooza

Poopapalooza is a night dedicated to celebrating live performance and the journey each artist is on while raising money for two incredible charities.

The Actors Benevolent Fund works to support actors in their hour of need, offering services and financial support to those who find themselves caught out by illness and unable to work.

Crohn's and Colitis UK is a leading charity funding research into the diseases while also providing vital information for both direct sufferers and the people who love them most.

How Poopapalooza came to be

My name is Clem. I'm an Argentinian / English actress. I am a Theatre, TV and Voiceover actor (I'll most notably be entertaining your children in Princess Mirror-Belle on CBBC). I trained at East 15, oh, and I have Crohn's Disease.

In 2024, while on tour with a family-friendly mime show I became extremely unwell with severe perianal Crohn's Disease. Within a week I was fighting sepsis, a hospital superbug and a severely diseased rectum. 7 months later I was still in hospital fighting for my life and 2 years later I am still dealing with the disease and the after effects of the trauma. I underwent 11 surgeries in that time and my body and mobility are unrecognisable from who I was before. During my worst months The Actor's Benevolent Fund supported me, not just financially but with so much kindness and grace. They checked in just to be nice and they allowed me to keep paying my rent in London until I was physically able to (with a lot of help from friends and family) pack up my things and move home with my parents. Crohn's and Colitis UK are a pioneer in the world of Crohn's disease, working with many hospitals in their research into the, widely misunderstood, diseases. They offer a wealth of information on their website which is extremely accessible and has helped me make sense of many of the changes I have undergone in the last two years. While I still have potentially another 10 years of surgeries ahead of me, I am ready to give back to the charities that gave me so much.

Poopapalooza is a culmination of everything I love about live performance, having performed in theatres and on television, as well as working in a comedy club for many years. There is so much joy to be found infront of and on a stage and I can't think of a better way to encourage people to spend their money on a good cause.

While I'm just a small fish in a big pond of talent I have huge ambition for this event. If I could get theatre legends to perform Shakespeare, musicians to bring their unwavering fans and big dog comedians to make us laugh in the face of adversity, with donations from the likes of Joe Lycett, Bertie Gregory, West End Theatres all to raise money for two (more than) deserving charities, I would feel like I was doing them the service they deserve. I would love for you to help me in this endeavour.

How you can help

What we need

The perfect place:

We are looking for the perfect venue to host our evening. Ideally the venue would be able to seat a lot of people, serve drinks but also have the flexibility for people to move around, interact and to potentially host a silent auction and sell merchandise.

Talent:

The more the merrier! Whether you're a singer, dancer, actor or comedian we would love you to donate a little of your time to a very good cause. Please grace our stage with your talent. You are the selling point of the evening so every collaboration means the world!

Advertising:

Can you help us get the word out? Do you have the perfect connections you could share this event with? I'm a little girl (of 29!) with a big dream so all help is hugely appreciated.

Artists:

We would love to have our merchandise designed by someone really special. The more money we can raise the better so alongside ticket sales we would love to offer bags, badges, banners, boomerangs... whatever you can dream we want to sell!

Charity backing:

Do you have a sector dedicated to fundraising and feel you can offer us a bit of support or encouragement? Please help!

Donations:

Is your name Joe Lycett and did you paint a giant canvas of a steaming poo that you'd like to donate to the Poopapalooza? Did you take an awesome photo that you think would be an exceptional prize? Please donate anything you can for our raffle and silent auction. No gift is too big or too small.

Partnerships:

Are you a brand and want to create a partnership? Perhaps you want to sell pizza slices, health drinks, a headshot session, a showreel scene? Do you have a property on Airbnb and would like to offer a free weekend? Can you do a killer makeover or tell someone their colour pallette? Whatever you have to offer, we can make it work!

Influencers:

Sharing is caring! If you have a platform and believe in our cause maybe you could help us get the word out further down the line to get those ticket sales as high as possible!!

If you'd like to be involved but don't have the capacity to commit to this entire project I would love to meet you and hear your thoughts. Drop me an email at: poopapaloozacharitynight@gmail.com
